Description

This George III antique hallmarked silver caster is of exceptional quality. It was made by Jabez Daniell who was the apprentice of Samuel Wood and both men are now renowned as being amongst the best Georgian silver caster makers. This one was hallmarked in London 1765.

It is in very good condition with no repair or damage and over the last 254 years has clearly had little use. It stands firmly on a raised circular base and hallmarks are clearly struck both to the base and also the pull off lid which is beautifully pierced and topped with a bell finial. Banded decoration to the body and foot.
