Description

This is a fine Georgian sterling silver mustard pot made by John Harris and hallmarked in London 1821. The accompanying spoon is attractively shaped and decorated, probably silver and stamped "Peru".

The mustard pot is in very good condition and made with a thick gauge of silver. It sits firmly on three hoof feet, the handle is secure and there is a faint armorial. The blue glass liner is also in very good condition, is shaped to fit the pot and sits well. As with the silver the liner is undamaged but I am not entirely sure whether the liner is original.

The mustard pot is attractively decorated and there is a finial to the lid which closes perfectly. Hallmarks are clearly struck - overall an attractive, heavy and quite large Georgian silver pot. (NB any shadows shown in photographs are merely reflections).
