Description

This fine early Georgian sterling silver caster or shaker was made by specialist caster maker Charles Adam and hallmarked in London 1714.

It is in very good condition and made with the higher quality Britannia silver. Of octagonal shape it has a beautifully pierced lid with an octagonal finial. Hallmarks are clearly struck to the bod and the pull off lid. It stands firmly on a raised octagonal base and has been made with a thick gauge of silver as one would expect from this highly regarded maker.

A fine silver caster made during the reign of King George 1st.
