Description

A lovely antique Georgian sterling silver sugar caster made by Thomas Daniell and hallmarked in London 1782.

It is in very good condition with an unusually shaped pull off lid and wrythen patterned piercing and decoration, topped with an acorn shaped finial. There is gadroon decoration to the body, lid and base. The caster stands firmly on a raised circular base. There is a lightly engraved animal to the body, possibly a leopard. The caster has been made with a heavy gauge of silver and is hallmarked to the base and lid.

A very attractive Georgian silver caster.
