Description

This wonderful solid sterling silver claret jug or ewer is in a classic style, with wooden finial and handle.

Clearly hallmarked on the side for Sheffield 1897 with the maker's mark of Harrison Brothers & Howson.

The body is half-fluted and stands on a circular pedestal base. The crest on the side reads 'Veritas Vencit' (Truth Prevails).

Height: 24cm to top of finial

Declaration

The Silver Cabinet has clarified that the Antique Victorian Silver Claret Ewer 1897 (C171 / LA12255) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1897.

Condition

The silver is in excellent condition - any shadows or marks showing in the photographs are merely reflections.
