Description

This is a fine Georgian sterling silver creamer or milk jug made by Hester Bateman and hallmarked in London 1780.

It is in very good condition and stands firmly on a raised and decorated circular base. The ornate handle incorporates a thumb-piece and there is a vacant cartouche to the front. The body has extensive decoration including a dog chasing a hare, trees and a church with a picket fence.
