Description

This lovely early Victorian antique sterling silver vinaigrette was made by Nathaniel Mills and hallmarked in Birmingham 1841.

The grille is beautifully pierced and hallmarks are clearly struck. The two halves close perfectly and there is a vacant cartouche to the reverse. The main feature is the striking depiction of Abbotsford in relief which is enhanced by decoration to the rim.

A beautiful Victorian vinaigrette from a silversmith widely regarded as the finest maker of small silver boxes
