Nathaniel Mills, cushion shaped, silver vinaigrette, hallmarked for Birmingham 1836.
In rectangular form with rounded corners. The cover is embellished with ornate decoration and foliate rim. There is a central oval shaped cartouche with applied initials. The underside has a floral design enclosed in a rectangular cartouche.
The hinged cover reveals a silver gilt interior with a beautifully designed, pierced, silver gilt grille, depicting flowers and foliage.

D&J Deeming Ltd has clarified that the Nathaniel Mills Silver Vinaigrette, William IV Birmingham 1836 (DJD002 / LA141114) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1836.
Overall very good condition. There are minor surface scratches as you would expect for a piece of this age. There is one small ding to underside corner. Pinprick marks can be seen, around the engraving on the cartouche, on photography and under magnification, but not obvious to the naked eye. Full, crisp hallmarks to the inside cover, base and underside of the grille. Interior gilding is in good condition.
