This is a late 18th century mahogany handkerchief table. The table stands on three shaped cabriole legs, terminating with early slipper shaped feet. The table is designed to stand in a corner, with a triangular drop flap, that when raised forms a square table. The flap is supported by the right leg, which is made in two parts so that when open, gives the impression of a four legged table. The unusual feature of a handkerchief table is that the normally fixed part of the top lifts to reveal a lockable compartment.
With flap raised table width is 80 x 80cm
Height : 67 cm - 26.38 in
Width : 80 cm - 31.5 in
Depth : 40 cm - 15.75 in
