Description

This delightful little vase may or may not be what is usually called peachblow, which is sometime a reference to glass where the colour graduates to peach or yellow. It may be what Thomas Webb called "Peach Bloom". Whatever the correct term is, it is a pale coloured semi-translucent glass over which has been laid a thin layer of peach glass. This technique originated in the USA in the late 1880's after a fashion was sparked by the sale of a porcelain vase of similar hue for $18,000. In England, Thomas Webb was a notable firm to take up the process, although other firms also used it.

The vase is nicely finished with a lacy green trail round the neck.
