Item Of The Week - Edwardian Rosewood Desk

This antique Edwardian rosewood desk would fit perfectly in an elegant office. It is ideal for a lady who writes as a hobby or even professionally, being both functional and attractive. The Antique Writing Desk has fantastic inlaid detailing and stringing and is in the popular Sheraton revival style.

There are some original ink stains on the desk surface but this just adds to its charm and is evidence of its history. The desk surface is covered in its original patinated tan leather top; it also features mahogany lined dovetailed drawers, of which there are five. There are four smaller draws on the sides of the desk, two on each side and a main drawer central to the desk, which features a delicate, pretty floral design.

The desk is in exceptional condition and still features its original cast brass castors and knobs, it is a lovely addition to the home, it would fit well in a modern home as a stand alone piece or in an interior that features other Edwardian furniture pieces. The beautiful rosewood desk is thought to have been made in the early 20th C, in the Edwardian period between 1901 and 1914; English in origin it is being sold by Middleton’s Antiques for a reasonable £595.
