Item of The Week - Silver Loving Cup & Spoon

Summer time is the perfect time for socialising in the sun with friends and family and what better social gathering is there than a wedding? Who doesn’t love a wedding; seeing the bride in all her finery, and the wedding party in theirs, enjoying lovely food, dancing your cares away, but then there’s the present! What do you buy? Photo frames, gift vouchers? How about something a little more unique; and Antique keepsake perhaps? How about this Fabulous Cased Victorian Silver Loving Cup & Spoon c.1884?

This stunning Victorian silver loving cup is 133 years old and is in excellent condition. It is sold with a matching trefid spoon and is made by the renowned silversmith Francis Higgins III. Both the cup and spoon are fully hallmarked and inscription free, and the set comes presented in its fully lined original Moroccan leather case.

As Loving cups were traditionally Silver and used at weddings, most commonly to share wine, this makes for the perfect stand out, meaningful gift that is sure to excite the Bride & Groom.

And if it's not a wedding you're looking to buy a gift for, the great thing about this set is that it could even be given as a Christening present, as Silver spoons are traditionally given as Christening gifts.  So which ever you choose it for, it is a perfect and wonderful personal gift choice, certain to bring a smile to the recipients face(s)

This set is being sold by Julie Cartwright Antiques for £295.
