Item of The Week - Antique Silver Hymn Book c.1910

When shopping for Antiques, whether it be on-line, at an Antique Fair or in an Antique Shop, you are bound to stumble upon some of the most wonderful objects to have graced the earth. From sturdy 17th Century Bureaus to delicate collectable Ceramics, the array of Antiques is intriguing, and we certainly encounter some exceptionally interesting items in our trade. This week’s Item of The Week is one of those items.

This unusual Antique Silver Hymn Book is the only one we have the pleasure of hosting on LoveAntiques.com so we wanted to share it with you.

This Hymn Book is Hallmarked from Birmingham Assay office and has the Makers mark of ‘Boots Pure Drug Company.’ It dates from 1910 but despite being 108 years old, this book is in exceptional condition and has clearly been well looked after; the silver fronted cover may be one of the reasons for this. The Book itself contains 428 pages.

With ‘The Good Shepherd’ gracing the cover and the print inside stating that this book is ‘For Use In The Services Of The Church,’ this would make the most wonderful and unique gift or keepsake for a religious friend or family member, or could be given as a Christening, First Holy Communion or Confirmation gift.

This Superb Hymn Book is being sold by Dart Silver Ltd for £295
