Item of The Week - William Comyns Silver Dressing Table Mirror

Now that Christmas is done and dusted, the shops are already filling up with Valentine's Day cards and gifts, so if one of your New Year's resolutions was to get organised, now is as good a time as any to start!  You'll need to start contemplating what to get for that special person in your life but thankfully, LoveAntiques.com is on hand to help! Our 'Item of The Week' could be the perfect gift idea.

This beautiful Antique Silver Dressing Table Mirror is simply gorgeous and would make the most wonderful gift for Valentine's Day. It is presented in the most remarkable condition given its age, so although it's not a brand new gift, it still has plenty of life left in it and comes with the added charm we often associate with objects of yesteryear; just imagine the reflections this mirror has been fortunate enough to display.

Made in 1897 by renowned Silversmith William Comyns and hallmarked London Assay Office, this stunningly shaped mirror has its original back and easel stand. And whilst the Dealer selling this item notes that the velvet is faded and just a tad worn in places, they also inform that the glass itself is blemish free, ensuring a perfect reflection every time. The intricately designed silver frame displays flowers and foliage alongside elegant curved lines and scrolls. The mirror plate has a bevelled edge which compliments the detailed frame beautifully.

So what's not to love about this Antique Mirror? Sat upon a dressing table or tall Chest of Drawers, it would make the most wonderful addition to a dressing room or bedroom and is sure to delight whomever is fortunate enough to have it gifted to them, be it for Valentine's Day, or simply just because.

This pretty Dressing Table Mirror is for sale from Jo Brayshaw for £545
