16th Century Carved Oak Jesus Holding the Lamb of God

A beautifully carved religious piece, this carved oak statuette represents Jesus holding the Lamb of God. Dating to circa 1500, it is around 500 years old and originates from continental Europe, probably the Low Countries or northern France. It will look fabulous as a decorative piece in any home, but will particularly suit an ecclesiastical building such as a converted chapel or church. - Finely and attractively carved. - Jesus holds the lamb in his arms, with a sheep at his feet. - Standing on separate later wooden base, which is 19th century. In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use.
