17th Century Oak Wainscot Hall Chair
This handsome chair, has a magnificent patina, the solid plank seat has a little carving to the front border, the back is carved with a large geometric design. The sturdy crook arms are supported with a turned upright, the simplicity of the design of this chair is accented by the stout legs and floor stretchers.
This unpretentious country piece would be at home by the fire in a main hall, but a piece such as this has a stand alone country house quality.
The chair is sound and in in good condition for its age, there is a slit in the back, this does not show unless it is lit from behind.
The chair is 44” high it is 25” wide and 20” deep, the seat height is 18”.
