Description
This early iron banded and riveted cream can was used to transport the dairy product of cream from the farm to the doorstep by cart. From there it was dispensed from the cream can into the customers own jug. This is a very early example with being riveted and banded and also sealed with a lead solder to make it liquid tight.

the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 18th Century A.D.
condition
In used condition, a replacement loop to the catch has been added in the past. There is a small piece of solder come away on the base revealing a small hole. See photographs for details. The cream can has a nice deep dark patina.
