Description
American Dial Clock in immaculate condition, by maker New Haven Clock Company of Connecticut. For a large clock making company, New Haven did not manufacture large numbers of pure roundhead dial clocks, so they are quite scarce and collectable today. The clock was serviced in November 2020, (so in fine working order), and comes with an Antiquitatum guarantee.
The clocks Mahogany case has superb patination and is in excellent condition for its age. The clocks clean 12-inch white dial has hand painted black Roman numerals and an original pair of blued steel spade hands, secured with a pinned collet. The dial is then protected by a hinged glazed frontage with a moulded brass bezel and to the base of the case box is a hinged turn catch inspection door allowing for pendulum bob access.
The clock benefits from a quality series 4 New Haven 8-day single barrel pendulum driven timepiece movement and as mentioned above, the movement has been serviced and in fine working order, keeping good time. The skeleton brass backplate also has the famous “New Haven Usa” trademark stamped into it, for authenticity. The clock comes with its original hand-crafted patterned brass pendulum bob and a winding key.
