On offer is this outstanding exhibition quality original mid 20th Century Israeli impressionist oil on canvas portrait painting depicting a native Israeli Fisherman. The rare, fabulous painting was purchased originally by the previous owners in a small antique shop in Safed, Israel. Indeed, written verso is the following: 'GALILEE FISHERMAN' PURCHASED IN SAFED, ISRAEL, OCTOBER 1978 The work dates a little earlier (Circa 1950-1960), and portrays the Galilee Fisherman in outstanding attention to detail. He is wearing warm clothes and holding a cigarette between his lips. In the background, a small vintage Sailing vessel can be seen. A truly phenomenal Oil Portrait Painting and a treasure to behold! The painting is 100% original throughout! The work is signed indistinctly lower right corner and it is mounted within the original contemporary moulded frame which suits the painting beautifully.
