Superb Victorian Gentleman's highly impressive solid brass (has a lovely soft pink hue which is unusual - suspect could be Pinchbeck but no definitive test for this), fancy knot and 'paperclip' link Antique pocket watch chain/Albert with original stamped swivel dog clip and large stamped swivel T bar. C ~1890's. Similar to the pocket watch chain I have supplied to 'Peaky Blinders'. Measures; 29.5cm / 11 1/2" total length and weighs a heavy 23.3 grams. Unusual elongated 'paperclip' links (measure 2.3 cm length x 5mm width) which interspersed with attractive chunky knot links - all have a lovely 'fluid' feel to them, reflecting the light beautifully. One of the paperclip links is stamped to one side with the makers initials; AG. Robust original swivel dog clip to one end (operates correctly) which is again clearly stamped (within an oval shaped recessed cartouche); AG - this is very interesting as it looks to have been stamped over another makers initials - I can make out the first underlying letter; T and suspect this was T*H - Thomas Hopwood (he was one of the leading jewellery manufacturers of the era). I wonder if AG bought up some of the T*H stock and had them over stamped with his own initials. Large swivel T bar (measures 3.9cm length) to the other end which again is clearly stamped; AG. The large round link near to the T bar is stamped with a makers mark to both sides - sadly I am unable to decipher. Excellent clean and bright condition with no damage and just a tiny (micro) bit of overall patina (showing under eyeglass only) commensurate with age. Will arrive in a new presentation box as shown and be very securely and safely packed. UK - FREE Royal Mail Signed Delivery *** WILL SHIP WORLDWIDE *** OVERSEAS - Please ADD £13.50 To Your Payment.
