He was a pre eminent English Poet , pole chemist , man of letters and a civil servant for the Commonwealth under Oliver Cromwell . Like the bust of Shakespeare a portrait of Milton first appeared in the Wren Library Cambridge in the 1750's This piece would form a wonderful addition and grace any library or study and add significant presence approx 29 cms tall weight 2.420 kg
