Antique Victorian landscape oil painting of inn with figures.
English School, circa 1890.
Unsigned, artist unknown.
Oil on canvas. Gilt gesso distressed frame.
Depicts an inn with a couple of figures walking down the road.
Size of frame: 22.5 x 18.5 inches.
Size of canvas: 18 x 14 inches.
Weight: 2.2 kg (allow 5.5 kg volumetric weigh once packed).

the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1880
condition
Condition commensurate with age - various superficial marks & scratches and lots of knocks to and pieces missing from gesso frame but all part of its charm and character. It has also been re-lined at some point in its life.
Priced accordingly.
Best described as shabby chic or faded grandeur.
This item is obviously delicate and the gesso frame fragile. Therefore, whilst every care will be taken to pack this item extremely well, I cannot guarantee that some pieces of plaster will not become fragmented and dislodged. Please understand this before committing to buy and it will need to be understood that the item cannot be returned for this reason.
