Description
A great storage piece, this shirt cabinet has a wonderful Art Deco style with a linear design carved into the wood above the drawers, panelled sides and Deco style block drawer pull handles with finger recesses. The maker’s label is fixed to the top and says “Dudley & Co Ltd, Showcase Manufacturers, Holloway, London N7”. It has 16 glazed and 4 unglazed drawers, the latter at the bottom, and stands on a plinth base. It will be a wonderful storage option for a domestic bedroom, or even an office, but would also be a fantastic addition for a clothing or haberdashery shop looking for a period interior.
Dating to circa 1940, this is made of oak with plywood and hardboard and originates from England.

condition
condition
In good age-related condition, this reflects regular use with two of the drawer fronts having small chips along the sides, but these have been polished over and are not obtrusive. It stands well to the floor, the drawer bottoms are in good condition, as is the glass. The two bottom drawers have bakelite disks inserted into the top of the handles, but these are missing from the two drawers above.
