A superb piece featuring many aspects unique to French furniture. Substantially made from oak with ply sides, the traditional green finish of this late 19th century piece is believed original. It is worn in places through years of use and together with its other marks of age would be ideal to create a French rustic look. The three door cupboard is raised on decorative turnings and sits above a two door, two drawer base unit with panelled mirror back. The doors are all hung in the typical French manner (they swivel instead of using hinges), and have carved panels depicting fruit and foliage. The central door of the upper cupboard is has bevelled glass and a newly made cheesecloth curtain, typical of the French style, with new wires fitted and can be easily unhooked and removed for laundering. The lower cupboard has a single adjustable shelf as does the cupboard above. The brass handles on the drawers are typically French looking and the whole piece has been beeswaxed to give a pleasing sheen. To assist stability, two uprights have been added, one either side at the back (not seen from the front) FREE DELIVERY to most areas (see below) Some colours may be viewed slightly different according to the set-up of your display. Every effort is made to portray the item as it actually is through detailed images and text description, if there is anything you are unsure of, or need clarifying please message me.
