Description
Edward VII sterling silver playing card box, with a hinged lid, engraved "Patience" with the initial engraving of enwtined letter "A" & "S". Inside has a fabric covered wooden lined interior, and contains a double pack of medium-size Austrian playing cards, made by Ferdinand Piatnik & Sons of Vienna, and consisting of two complete 52 card decks, plus a makers card and three joker cards in each deck. The box is hallmarked in London, 1908, and makers mark WC for William Comyns & Sons.

The box measures 84mm wide by 56mm deep (58mm deep inc. protruding hinge) by 51mm high, and the playing cards measure 66mm long by 44mm wide. The silver weight is unavailable, but the box weighs 115g, and has a total item weight of 219g (inc. cards).
