English Mahogany Canterbury c.1910
The Antique Canterbury was first introduced in the late 18th Century Georgian period ca. 1780 and got its name from the first commissioned piece by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Canterbury was popular throughout the 19th Century Victorian and later Edwardian periods in Britain as an occasional piece of furniture that could be dotted around the living room. Originally used for sheet music they are now great for magazines and newspapers. This example is a lovely simple design making it a great addition to contemporary homes.
