This is a beautiful quality French Vernis Martin bombe cabinet dating from around 1900, richly decorated throughout with gilt bronze ormolu mounts and hand-painted panels in the romantic Vernis Martin style. The cabinet has an elegant bombe form with sweeping curved sides, a shaped Breccia marble top, and finely cast gilt mounts including female mask mounts and foliate scrollwork. The front and sides each display beautifully executed painted scenes depicting classical figures in a garden landscape. A highly decorative and very impressive cabinet, ideal for an entrance hall, drawing room, sitting room or refined interior setting.
