Description
An exceptionally elegant George III period tulipwood vide-poche, the top edge crossbanded, the finely drawn supports of unusual slender form with secretaire fall front.
The vide-poche table often made on the continent and are known so for their recessed surfaces and dish-like design. Made in a number of woods such as walnut, cherrywood and mahogany were used to accommodate keys, card cases etc. Made from the late 18th century onwards, these remarkable little tables are always in popular demand.
