Description
This is a good piece of antique Georgian copper with surprisingly few dents. Made in the traditional method of dovetailing the joint (see detailed picture) it has a sturdy handmade tubular handle and a generous spout.
It is a piece of copper from the Regency period not a later Victorian example and has a George the fourth weights and measures stamp inside the spout (see detailed picture) which shows a crown, a three turret castle and a clear impression to the left G and on the right side IV which puts the date between 1820-1830.
It measures one gallon and does not leak at all and although it has a few shallow dents they are very slight and, taking into account its age, it's a wonder that there aren't more.
This piece would be a good addition to a collection of old copper and would create a nostalgic feel to a room if hung from a beam as a decorative item.
