Impressive 19th Century French Empire Revival 5 Piece Bedroom Suite

We are pleased to offer this 5 piece bedroom suite circa 1890. Suite comprising of a bed, wardrobe, dressing table and pair of night stands. Double bed with rich mahogany colour, richly decorated in ormolu mounts and beading.   scrolled head board with mythical head and scrolling decoration.   foot board with a swan and arrow ormolu decoration.   side rails have also been adorned in expense spared decoration and mounts.   standing on 4 hairy paw feet. Bed is held in place by large bolts at each corner and offers an internal mattress space of 60. 5" x 76. 5", due to the construction of the foot and head boards it allows and excellent opportunity to extend the width if desired.   please ask for details. The large wardrobe is a real statement piece.   shallow breakfront shape, cornice beautifully decorated with ormolu mounts.   made from an early form of flat pack which allows it to be fitted into the most awkward of spaces.   central mirrored door opens on the key to reveal a partially fitted interior with adjustable shelves and a single and double drawer fitting.   this is flanked either side by a single mirrored door with further adjustable shelves.   3 drawers in the base section.   removable columns with ormolu mounts.   standing on ormolu feet.   slight plate loss to bevelled edge mirrors. Next in the suite is a substantial marble top dressing table.   top section with tilting mirror with a drawer either side.   stunning white carrara marble top.   below the marble surface are 2 large drawers with mythical mounts and cast handles.   standing on 4 column legs with further mounts united by h frame stretcher. Last in the suite, we have a pair of matching nightstands.   white carrara marble tops, single drawer with drop down door revealing a marble lined cupboard.   potboard lower tier storage space.   as with the rest of the suite the nightstands are profusely decorated in empire inspired mounts standing on cast ormolu paw feet.
