Description
Japanese Meiji period silver-mounted glass inkwell
Very pretty inkwell in glass with a pierced silver floral decoration to the whole revealing the glass beneath. Excellent clasp and opener that springs up. Marked on the base Arthur & Bond, a famous English silversmith in Yokohama, and Sterling. The company was set up in 1889 and closed in 1923. The inkwell dates c1900. Height 2.5in or 6.25cm
