A superb and ornately engraved fully hallmarked Edwardian 9ct yellow gold locket with a 9ct yellow gold 20 inch anchor chain necklace. The front and back are ornamented with acanthus leaves and floral motifs. The acanthus leaf symbolizes the desire for enduring life and immortality. The shield shaped cartouche represents the desire of the donor to protect the recipient. The locket and necklace are in superb condition. The original frames are present. All catches and hinges work perfectly. This locket can accommodate two photographs or Portraits.
