Pierre LANGLADE “La Charente a Chaniers” Oil Painting

Pierre LANGLADE (1907-1972) “La Charente a Chaniers” A delightful sunset over the river Chaniers in the Charente-Maritime commune in southwest France. Painted in a lively impressionistic manner on to a wooden panel, signed bottom left and inscribed verso. At the young age of 17, Langlade entered the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Nantes. Further instruction followed at the Academie Julian in Paris where he studied under Paul Laurens. He became a member of the Association of French Artists, exhibiting at the Universal Exhibition of 1937 and the Paris Autumn Salon. Condition Excellent original condition, slight marks to frame slip. Size 17cm x 31cm (29cm x 43cm framed) 7 x 12 inches (12 x 17 inches framed)
