A traditional English barograph set in a richly figured polished oak case with a deep bevelled glass lift off lid. The lacquered brass movement signed by Short and Mason of London with a serial number F37955, circa 1935 although with the high serial number it could just be post WW2.
There is a two-compartment chart drawer to the base and the sturdy instrument sits on oak bun feet.
A quantity of weekly charts together with a fresh bottle of recording ink are included and also a reprinted period pamphlet by Negretti & Zambra Ltd describing operating instructions and how to interpret typical chart recordings.

Richard Twort has clarified that the Polished Oak Barograph by Short and Mason (LA550628) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being circa 1935
