This box was obviously made for a cadets mother. I think it would be a Jewelry box as the size and shape lends it self for that use. The lid is a lift on and off and is 13" x 9" inches the darker centre stands proud by about 1/4 of an inch. The centre section has been poker worked with the RAF badge and the word MOTHER. When the lid is removed the next section shown is a removable and has been divided into five sections. this tray is 11" x 7" inches. when this tray is removed in reveals the base of the box and has four posts which hold the tray 2.5" . The bottom of the box is lifted off the table by four feet which consist of four angled feet in each corner and lifts the box by 1/4"
