Description
A beautiful example of a rare late 17th century low back oak stool with drawer, this has had the leather replaced at some point in the distant past in a way which is consistent with its original appearance and which has now aged to a produce a lovely covering in good condition.
- Drawer beneath the seat, with an attractive metal pull.
- Turned legs with square stretcher.
- Leather covering to seat, back and the fronts of the upright stiles, with decorative metal studs.
This will look fabulous in a period home or a cottage style interior.
In good condition showing wear consistent with age and use. The sides of the drawers show signs of old woodworm which is no longer active. One of the front feet has been damaged and repaired in the distant past. A couple of the upholstery studs are missing and there is a small hole in the leather on one of the stile coverings, although the leather generally is in good condition without further rips or serious wear.
