rare arts and crafts period s" shaped roll top tambour fronted desk in tiger grained golden oak,with a fully fitted maplewood interior with pigeon holes for documents and letters with draws, an unusual original feature a 3 bottle ink-well and pen rack on a revolving metal frame to the centre of the interior ,another unusual feature unlike other roll top desks the tambour roll when opened slides down the back of the desk and is exposed not built into the carcus like other desks of this type,and instead of the usual fielded panels this desk has reeded beaded panels showing the extra effort the craftsman rendered in its construction ,the brass exposed lock plate attached to the fall has the makers name angus london ,the desk has reeded panels all around and even to the draw fronts which also have finely shaped draw pulls in the arts and crafts manner this desk was designed to be viewed from all sides ,the desk has recently been fully refurbished and is in full working order,keys will be supplied for the locks. circa 1880s .150cm wide 114cm high 90cm deep price £2650
