This is a Charming Georgian Solid Silver Mounted Scottish Snuff Mull, this i believe was crafted around c1830 and has inscribed on the Collar Present for John Wylie Potter and also has a date 1839 when presented on the Hinge Collar that forms to a Thistle on the Lid but this Snuff Mull would have been made earlier, it isnt Hallmarked as most Scottish Snuff Horns were not in the Georgian Period, but tests for Solid Silver. It also has the name Potter on the Round Solid Silver Cartouche to the Lid, the Hinge is good and it opens and closes securely, when opened it reveals the original Cork to the inside Lid for sealing the Snuff inside the Snuff Mull, the Snuff Mull has Beautiful Colour to it and has a nice curved end, although the end bit is chipped off or worn away, and there are some cracks on the snuff Mull but this is normal for the age of it being around 190 years old, this would have been owned by John Potter a wealthy Man in the Georgian Period, from a time when things were very different to today and this Solid Silver Mounted Snuff Mull is so tactile, this would add something special to any collection.
