A rare collector’s George IV silver vinaigrette by fine makers Charles Rawlings and William Summers, tactile slim rounded rectangular design with machine-turned decoration with lovely original fire-gilt interior and pretty pierced grille. Vinaigrettes are small containers for aromatic vinegar used to disguise unpleasant odours. The sponge for the vinegar was contained beneath a pierced grille. Most were made between 1770 and 1880.
