Description
Daikoku is considered to be the god of wealth, or of the household, particularly the kitchen. He is recognised by his wide face, smile and a flat hat. He is portrayed holding a mallet called Uchide No Kozuchi, otherwise known as the "mallet of fortune". He is seen carrying a bag of rice, signifying plentiful food. Signed twice on the base. Probably Meiji period.
