Scottish Interest A Large Alm/Bread Pewter Dish Made For Greyfriars Church Edinburgh in 1722 This historical important alm dish is engraved with the text: For The Waster Gray Frieirs Kirk 1722, indistinctly stamped for the Pewterer Thomas Inglis Edinburgh 1686-1732 This dish is made for the opening of the new part of the church which opened in 1722. A similar dish is in the collection of the National Museum of Scotland and stamped for John Shorey Ii London 1708-1732 and a third dish is in the collection of the Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum, in the Neish collection and has no Pewterer stamps.
