Although this is a Georgian design copper kettles continued to be produced right through until the end of the Victorian period. This follows the traditional method of construction by using dovetail joins for the back, and underside seams which can clearly be seen. The spout and riveted handle are all firm and, although it has acquired a few dents, has maintained it’s shape very well. The lid features a large, brass acorn finial which forms a handle, so typical of the design. There is no build-up of limescale inside nor are there any leaks. As a decoration piece, it has an excellent shine and with the slight unevenness in parts displaying its credentials as being a genuine antique piece, with splendid reflections. Height inc. handle – 26cm Diameter – 18.5cm
