Description

A charming Victorian davenport desk in beautiful burr walnut, English, Circa 1860. Superb quality piece, with stunning burr walnut colour and grain. With three quarter galleried brass top above a shaped hinged lid, this opens to reveal 2 drawers with satin birch fronts and a new hand dyed green leather inset writing surface which can be adjusted in angle/height. With pen and inkwell storage to the side. There is a secret catch inside one of the small drawers which releases the piano top, revealing a hinged fretwork gallery which opens to reveal divider storage inside. There are 4 dummy drawers down the left hand side and 4 functioning drawers on the right hand side, each matching with turned handles and of good quality construction. The davenport is decorated with crisp carved supports and is raised on casters.
