Victorian Collectors Cabinet, “Portable Museum” with Contents
A charming Victorian educational activity Cabinet that is made from mahogany and has 6 drawers. The drawers are labeled with the titles of their contents and still contain many of the samples, from metals to food substances too many to mention. The drawers and top carrying handle are inset and made in brass, the cabinet has 2 locking doors on the inside of which is labeled by the designer Thomas E Dexter of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.
A very rare and interesting object in good used condition, one ring handle is broken.
The cabinet is 16” high, 14” wide and 14.4” deep.
