Victorian Oak & Pierced Brass Letter Rack - Answered & Unanswered c.1880

Excellent late 19th Century (c.1880) Victorian antique oak and pierced brass letter rack. This very attractive and useful piece that is in a lovely original condition with no damage. As well as the two rows of decorative pierced brass, it also has two engraved brass plaques to the front, one saying 'Answered' and the other 'Unanswered'. What a great memento of earlier times, when letter writing was an art and a regular thing and you would use this rack to keep up to date with all your correspondence. Today is makes a perfect desk tidy for stationery, or pens or whatever, or it lends itself nicely for use on a dressing table.
