Medical Interest: a rare Victorian silver male catheter. Curved outer sheath with a small aperture to one end housing the inner wire that draws out to release the fluid. Full London hallmarks, retailer’s mark ‘Matthews”, top button stamped ‘2’, marked 3 on the stem. Quality example in fine condition.
Catheters are inserted in to the body to remove fluid, usually the bladder… don’t try this at home!!
