This delightful early 20th Century vintage Royal Doulton English porcelain figurine "Curly Knob" ~ Hn 1627, decorated in an attractive blue and red colourway, was designed by leading Doulton Artist. Leslie Harradine" target and was issued from 1934 - 1949. The underside fully marked in underglaze green with the Royal Doulton printed backstamp of the period together with the date code 9, {for 1936}, "Curly Knob", Rd. No. 788725 {for 1933}, in green script, Hn 1627. Impressed Model Number, 232, and impressed Date Code, 1236, {for 01 February 1936?}, this above the impressed numeral 1, {so could it be for 01 December 1936, which would more closely tally with the date at which the Painter is recorded as working at Doulton ?}, Painter's Monogram, N.P in black, probably for Norman Parton, listed as working at Doulton Circa 1937 to 1976.
