Description
The watch has a 25-jewel Langendorf calibre 1146 automatic movement which is working nicely. The Langendorf Watch Company was based in Langendorf, Switzerland and they sold watches with the Lanco brand name.
The watch measures 32.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and it is hallmarked for Birmingham 1967, together with a case maker’s mark for the Birmingham goldsmith B H Britton & Sons, manufacturer of cases for various watch makers including Rolex. The case is in good condition, just a little unevenness to the back of the watch. It is free from any inscriptions.
The lens is in lovely condition.
The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands, centre seconds hand and a date display (an early form of quickset date whereby the hands are repeatedly moved backwards and forwards between 12 midnight and 9.45pm until the desired date is reached).
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
All Prices Include UK Postage (excluding Northern Ireland).
Please contact us for international shipping prices (Ddu, details in delivery information section below). Due to Eu regulations, we no longer post to the Eu or Northern Ireland.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a Vat registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the red 'Buy Now' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
