Description
The watch has a 17-jewel Swiss hand-winding movement which is working nicely. It is signed Croton Watch Co. The brand name Croton was registered by Nivada Sa in 1939. There are two empty retaining screw holes within the movement, these screws are not required as the shaped case back is designed to hold everything in place.
There are a couple of empty screw holes within the movement. These are for retaining screws but they are not needed for this particular watch because it has a retaining ring to hold everything in place.
The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it is in lovely condition, just wear to the finish on the winding crown. The back of the watch states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture.
The lens is in lovely condition.
The signed subtly textured dial is in its original finish with dauphine shaped hands, black centre seconds sweep and a very stylish number 12. Overall, the condition is good, just a shade of discolouration.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
