Description
William IV sterling silver vinaigrette, with a rectangle casket shape, a hinged lid, a framed bordered textured lid and base, and an engraved rectangle cartouche to the lid E D. Inside is gilded, with its floral pierced hinged grill, and oasis sponge pieces inside. Hallmarked in Birmingham, 1834, with the makers mark G W for Gervase Wheeler, and the George IV duty mark, which was still being used by the Birmingham assay office.
